Back by popular demand — our second collection of plus size cosplay inspiration. If Part 1 was about getting started, this set is about leveling up: sharper silhouettes, richer fabrics, and characters brought to life with real craftsmanship. The cosplay community has always insisted that cosplay is for every body, and these looks make the case beautifully.

Leveling Up Your Builds

A few upgrades separate a good cosplay from a great one. Fabric choice is the biggest: swapping thin costume-satin for scuba knit, brocade, or heavyweight ponte instantly improves how a garment hangs and photographs. Structure is second — boning in a bodice, interfacing in a collar, a properly hemmed cape. None of it requires advanced sewing; even beginner-friendly iron-on interfacing transforms a piece. And for armor or props, EVA foam scales to any body — you’re the pattern, so the fit is custom by definition.

Convention-Day Wisdom

Long con days reward preparation. Break in footwear beforehand, build a repair kit (safety pins, fashion tape, glue stick for foam), and design your costume with a bathroom plan — future you will be grateful. Most importantly, find your angles and practice your character’s poses in a mirror; confidence in character reads more powerfully in photos than any costume detail.

Every one of these looks started with someone deciding a character was theirs to play. That’s the entire qualification. Pick your icon and start building.
